New program to bring 25 children from 25 different African countries to Israel for life-saving heart treatment initiated


The goal of bringing 25 children from 25 different countries in Africa was set for the year of 2022 by the Africa Division and MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation at the MFA in collaboration with Save a Child's Heart


In honor of the new year and marking the 25th anniversary of Save a Child’s Heart, the Africa Division and MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are beginning a new project, which will bring 25 children from 25 different countries to Israel for life-saving heart treatment. To date, Save a Child's Heart has succeeded in saving the lives of children from 14 countries in the African continent. As part of the new project with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – this will be expanded to 11 more countries. South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cameroon, South Africa, Angola and Mozambique, are some of the countries that will be included in the project.

The head representatives of the various countries, together with Save a Child's Heart, will work together with the local health authorities to locate appropriate children in need and fly them to Israel, in complex humanitarian operations, in order to receive complex life-saving heart treatment at the Sylvan Adams Children’s Hospital by the dedicated team of doctors at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.
