Ambassador's message

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in the State of Israel. This website is intended to serve as a continuous source of information on Tanzania as a country of unfolding and unlimited opportunities for business, investment, tourism and for those interested in Tanzania in general.

Tanzania is a peaceful and stable country and a home to the world renowned tourism destinations including Mount Kilimanjaro, the roof of Africa, exotic Zanzibar island, and more than twenty-four (24) wildlife-rich national parks including Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, Selous and many more.

Indeed Tanzania is blessed with abundant natural resources and very attractive lakes and rivers. Apart from wealth in wildlife land, agriculture and forestry, Tanzania is also very rich in minerals such as tanzanite, diamond, gold, iron, coal, nickel, uranium, oil and natural gas.

Israel and Tanzania established diplomatic ties in 1995, following a 22-year hiatus which began during the Yom Kippur War, however, Israeli contacts with Tanzania have been conducted solely through Nairobi in Kenya.

Together with our colleagues at the Embassy, our main agenda is to strengthen our new relationship as well as to promote the Tanzania-Israel comprehensive and cooperative partnership to grow stronger and faster through existing mechanisms. The Embassy remain fully committed to construct the comprehensive cooperative partnership featuring mutual benefit and win-win outcome, and to strengthen Tanzania - Israel relationship.

It is my anticipated hope that this website offers you a window of opportunity to better understand our country, Tanzania, famously referred to as “THE LAND OF KILIMANJARO, ZANZIBAR AND THE SERENGETI”.
