H.E. Alex Gabriel Kallua, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania accompanied with his spouse, Ms. Flugensia Leoni Mushi, participated yesterday, the 22nd of March 2022, at the reception given in Jerusalem on the occasion of the Celebration of Naw-Rúz, the Bahá’í New Year.

The event which gathered many guests was joyful and convivial and everyone shared delightful moments of fraternity.

Naw-Rúz is the first day of the Bahá’í calendar year and one of eleven holy days for adherents of the Bahá’í Faith. It occurs on the vernal equinox, on or near March 21st, which is the traditional Iranian New Year.

The Bahá’í faith was founded 200 years ago. Today, some 7 million people now comprise this world’s fourth and latest monotheistic religion. Each Bahá’í follower is required to make at least one pilgrimage to the two most holy sites: Haifa and Akko, both located in Israel. Remarkably, Bahá’ís pray and are buried facing Israel’s Western Galilee.
