Dr. Tomer Malchi, co-founder of Cultivaid paid a courtesy visit to HE Alex G. Kallua at the Embassy

On 6 June 2022, H.E. Alex Gabriel Kallua met with Dr. Tomer Malchi, Executive Director and co-founder of Cultivaid at the Embassy where they could share various ideas on future projects to develop in Tanzania, particularly in grape cultivation and so, during brainstorming exchanges.


CultivAid is an Israeli not-for-profit organization operating in East Africa and extensively in Aitec Dodoma Don Bosco. CultivAid specializes in capacity building as well as knowledge and technology transfer initiatives with a focus on agriculture, water, and nutrition. It emphasizes the construction of local/regional knowledge infrastructures as an essential mechanism for empowerment and development. Its methodology combines market oriented and social development initiatives.


Their activities focus on developing local experts through hands-on training programs, field work, and joint research for sustainable long term agricultural growth. They believe in the empowerment of agronomists and local ownership of agriculture to ensure food security and economic development.


Tomer Malchi holds a B.Sc., in Industrial and Labor relations from Cornell University. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc., and Ph.D from the faculty of Agriculture at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Tomer has extensive experience in national and international development work in the field of agriculture, water and energy. As Executive Director, Tomer is responsible for project development and expanding CultivAid’s operations.
